  • Punching

  • Scratching

  • Biting

  • Stomping

  • Choking

  • Throwing the Person Down

  • Using a Weapon

  • Twisting Limbs

  • Hair Pulling

  • Mutilating

  • Forced Sexual Acts

The most common injuries usually occur to the head, face, back and ribs. The most common broken bones are              the ribs and the arms (victims often raise them in order to defend themselves).

Abuse can range in severity. Injuries can be mild, with no physical marks. The injuries can also be severe              including:

    • loss of consciousness

    • internal injuries

    • permanent disfiguration

It has been seen that if it happens once, it will happen again. Physical violence often becomes worse during              pregnancy and in the infancy years of children.
