Hotline 21

Part of CAWC’s mission to end domestic violence includes providing outreach and education. As part of this mission, CAWC actively participates in “Hotline 21”, a domestic violence call-in program on CAN TV, Channel 21. Once a month, CAWC hosts the live show that includes interviewing a guest and responding to calls from viewers. This show offers information, assistance and referrals to women, children and families affected by domestic violence.

Past topics have included an overview of domestic violence, services for survivors, Illinois Domestic Violence Act/Legal Issues (in Spanish), an overview of services at HCIP, safety planning (in Spanish), the relationship between mental health and domestic violence, and the effects of domestic violence on children.
