Adopt-A-Family this Holiday Season!

Each holiday season, CAWC’s Adopt-a-Family Holiday Gift Drive provides domestic violence survivors and their children with gifts, including household items, toys and games, clothing, and self-care products. With the generous support of donors like you, we help make the holidays a little brighter for the adults and children served by CAWC. Last year, we provided gifts for 106 families! We are now beginning this year’s Adopt-a-Family Gift Drive and we ask you to join us in making this a memorable holiday season for our families.

When you adopt a family, you agree to purchase three small gifts identified by each family member (adults included). These gifts should have a value of about $25, so you can plan on spending approximately $75 per family member. We will provide you with the first name and age of each family member, their clothing sizes, favorite color, and their three wishes. If you are interested in adopting one or more families, please complete the form and email it to Development Director, Alexa Markoff at amarkoff@cawc.org to be matched with a family.

Thank you Revolution Brewing!

The Revolution Brewing team presented CAWC staff with a very generous $20,943 donation on Thursday, April 12th.  Money was raised through Spirit of Revolt beer sales, a beverage that was brewed by female brew masters, as well as sales of t-shirts and posters at a March 8th Arts & Crafts Fair where women-owned businesses were celebrated. The idea to brew this unique beer came from a bartender and the concept flourished into wanting to donate proceeds to a nonprofit that helps women and children. CAWC was most grateful for this donation that allows us to continue to rebuild lives and renew hope for domestic violence survivors and their children.

If you or your business are interested in hosting a fundraiser for CAWC, please contact Alexa Markoff, Development Director, at 773.489.9081 x 221 or amarkoff@cawc.org. Fundraisers can include challenge events like marathons, walk-runs, or cycling races; community events such as the Revolution Brewing event or any organized event where proceeds benefit CAWC; or a personal campaign when someone creatively fundraises around a life event (wedding, birthday, or memorial).
