“Will Santa find me at my new home?”

When you’re six and living in a domestic violence shelter with your mom and your brother during December, you wonder and you worry about whether Santa will find you at your new ‘home’ or will you have no presents this year.

For more than 41 years, Connections for Abused Women and their Children (CAWC) has been dedicated to ending domestic violence and to delivering high quality and effective domestic violence services to both adults and children.

Each year, we provide families with warm holiday memories to make the holiday season special, especially for the children. We want to give them a sense of community and the opportunity to share in the holiday spirit. This is how children should celebrate the holidays. We know how important it is to help families enjoy the holidays despite the difficulties they have experienced.

When you choose to adopt a family or an individual, you will grant three small wishes to each family member. We ask that one wish cost be at least $25 in value. You will be provided with the first names and ages of each family member, their clothing size, favorite color and their three wishes.

The deadline to let us know if you plan to adopt a family or an individual is Friday, November 8, 2019.

We will email you a form to complete if you let us know that you want to participate in this heartfelt and memorable program.

Last year, we had more people who wanted to adopt a family or an individual than we’ve ever had in this history of the program. Corporations, schools, religious organizations, and incredible individuals were all part of adopt-a-family. One mom drove 90 minutes with two small children to ensure that others had a happy holiday! It truly was as meaningful for the donors as it was for the families and individuals.
