On May 2, 2019, 71 well-known Chicago-area restaurants united to support CAWC and our mission to end domestic violence. We gratefully acknowledge the funds raised and the enhanced awareness about domestic violence. We are happy that this event will once again be held in 2020. Next year’s event will be called Now Serving Awareness.
The May 2nd initiative was organized by Daniella Caruso, owner, Funkenhausen restaurant, Caruso wanted to ensure that the public was educated about domestic violence and that they learn more about important organizations, like CAWC, that work with domestic violence survivors and help them live a life that is free from abuse.
Stephanie Love-Patterson, Executive Director, CAWC, notes, “We are honored that CAWC was chosen as the beneficiary of the May 2, 2019 initiative. We are very appreciative to the participating restaurants for their generosity and their willingness to participate in this meaningful and positive endeavor.”
