Lisa and Gil had the fortunate experience of receiving a similar invite over a decade ago. One of their colleagues, Dr. Diljeet Singh, invited them to join her at a gala for an organization where she served on the board of directors. Curious and willing to be supportive, they both accepted and attended.
That evening, they learned about Connections for Abused Women and Their Children (CAWC) and their advocacy for domestic violence survivors. The most memorable aspect of the evening was hearing from a survivor, as she stood beside her children, and told her survivor story. From that moment on, both Lisa and Gil have been passionate about the mission and impact of CAWC ever since! Gil has served on the board of directors for most of the last 10 years and Lisa has been a strong supporter and attendee at the annual gala.
Please join us for an afternoon of fellowship that includes learning about the critical services CAWC provides and about our vision to provide a trauma-informed domestic violence shelter that ensures healing for adults and children.
