You can help save the life of a woman or child being victimized by domestic violence by making a gift to CAWC today.

As a not-for-profit organization, CAWC relies upon contributions from individuals, corporations, churches, community groups and foundations to help support our work.

Gifts to CAWC can take many forms. Whether it is a through cash, check, credit card, or stock donation, every contribution to CAWC is an opportunity  to make a difference in the life of a woman or child victim of domestic violence.

Monetary Contributions

Monetary donations can be given via this website’s online donation program by clicking on the Donate Now button or by mail to CAWC’s administrative office at 1116 N. Kedzie, 5th Floor, Chicago, IL 60651Attn:  Development Department.  Donations can be given to support all of CAWC’s services or can be designated to support a particular program.  Monetary donations can also be made to honor the life of someone special or to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, wedding, etc.  If you participate in a United Way giving campaign at your work place you can also designate your donation to Connections for Abused Women and their Children.

Planned Giving

By designating CAWC as a recipient to part of your estate upon your death, you can leave a lasting legacy to the women who turn to us in time of need through a Planned Gift to CAWC. Donations of stock made directly to CAWC can also hold wonderful tax advantages while making a difference in the lives of women. Ask your tax advisor or financial planner about how you might make such gifts to CAWC. For further information on CAWC’s Planned Giving or Stock Donation program you can also contact the Development Department at 773-489-9081.

In considering you gift, please remember that a donation of just:

$25 will help cover the cost of operating our 24 Hotline for 1 day.
$50 will help purchase food for 1 day at our shelter.
$100 will help cover the cost of counseling for a mother and her child trying to create lives free from violence.
$250 will help cover the cost of specialized domestic violence training for volunteers needed to help support CAWC programs.
$500 will help cover the cost of shelter for a mother and her child seeking safety from their abuser.

Let Your Company Double or Triple Your Impact Through a Matching Gift

What if I still have questions?

What is a matching gift?

A matching gift program is a corporate giving program. Your gift can double or triple in value depending on your employer’s policy.

Example:  Mary Smith makes a $100 contribution to CAWC. Her employer participates in a 2:1 match, which means that they contribute $100 x 2 or $200. Mary’s $100 contribution just turned into a $300 contribution!

How do I request a matching gift?

Speak with someone in your HR department about your employer’s matching gift program. If your employer has this program, they will either give you a form to complete and send to CAWC or you will complete a form online.

The three steps are:

1. Make your personal donation and save your tax receipt.

2. Speak with your HR department about whether your employer has a matching gift program

3. Complete and send your matching gift form to CAWC or complete a form online

Can I submit a matching gift form if I made a donation three months ago?

Most employers allow employees submit a matching gift form for up to one year after the donation was made.
