You can help save the life of a woman or child being victimized by domestic violence by making a gift to CAWC today.

As a not-for-profit organization, CAWC relies upon contributions from individuals, corporations, churches, community groups and foundations to help support our work.

Gifts to CAWC can take many forms. Whether it is a through cash, check, credit card, or stock donation, every contribution to CAWC is an opportunity  to make a difference in the life of a woman or child victim of domestic violence.

Monetary Contributions

Monetary donations can be given via this website’s online donation program by clicking on the Donate Now button or by mail to CAWC’s administrative office at 1116 N. Kedzie, 5th Floor, Chicago, IL 60651Attn:  Development Department.  Donations can be given to support all of CAWC’s services or can be designated to support a particular program.  Monetary donations can also be made to honor the life of someone special or to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, wedding, etc.  If you participate in a United Way giving campaign at your work place you can also designate your donation to Connections for Abused Women and their Children.

Matching Gifts

Many employers will match charitable contributions made by employees. Such programs can double or triple your gift. Check with your employer’s human resources department to see if your company has such a program.

Planned Giving

By designating CAWC as a recipient to part of your estate upon your death, you can leave a lasting legacy to the women who turn to us in time of need through a Planned Gift to CAWC. Donations of stock made directly to CAWC can also hold wonderful tax advantages while making a difference in the lives of women. Ask your tax advisor or financial planner about how you might make such gifts to CAWC. For further information on CAWC’s Planned Giving or Stock Donation program you can also contact the Development Department at 773-489-9081 ex. 21.

In considering you gift, please remember that a donation of just:

$25 will help cover the cost of operating our 24 Hotline for 1 day.
$50 will help purchase food for 1 day at our shelter.
$100 will help cover the cost of counseling for a mother and her child trying to create lives free from violence.
$250 will help cover the cost of specialized domestic violence training for volunteers needed to help support CAWC programs.
$500 will help cover the cost of shelter for a mother and her child seeking safety from their abuser.

All contributions are professionally managed and prudently designated to the needs of CAWC. Overhead costs are kept at a minimum to ensure that the largest percentage of each donation dollar goes directly into support CAWC services.  CAWC is a 501(c)3 charitable organization and therefore, all donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law.
